| Extremely Rare Early 19C Lacque Mandalay Buddha | |||||||||||||||
In traditional Burmese art, applying gold leaf over a dark lacquer base is a sacred technique known as Shwe-cha. The deep black or red lacquer acts as the perfect canvas, making the gold leaf pop with an incredibly rich, warm, and authentic historical glow. CAT NO:9023
Since it is gold, avoid using a harsh camera flash, which can make the gold look washed out or fake. Instead, photograph it in warm, soft, natural side lighting . This will make the raised lacquer patterns cast soft shadows, proving that it is authentic, high quality handwork! PERIOD: Early 19th century
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Mandalay, Burma
RARITY AND CONDITION: Extremely rare, good condition, some possible cleaning
/ restoration,
HEIGHT IN INCHES:35"
