DESCRIPTION: The Buddha is depicted in the classic Vajrasana (cross-legged at the ankles) posture, seated in the profound Bhumisparsa mudra (the earth-touching gesture).

His right hand rests gently over the knee, fingertips reaching toward the ground, while the left hand rests open in his lap.

This timeless iconography beautifully captures the pivotal moment of enlightenment, where the Buddha calls upon the earth to witness his countless lifetimes of virtue and defeat the temptations of Mara.
